Sabine Pass Recovery Dedication Page

I created this page at the request of my Aunt, the Rev. Kitty Key of the Sabine Pass United Methodist Church. The lyrics below were written by John D. Thornburg of Dallas, Texas and were written for the people of Sabine Pass. These lyrics are set to the tune of Blessed Assurance.
Use the controls below play the tune of Blessed Assurance.

JESUS COMES WALKING OVER THE SEA

When we are homeless, listless and lost
When we are weary of counting the cost,
Jesus comes walking over the sea,
calming our spirits, setting us free.

Refrain:
Jesus comes walking over the sea,
calming our spirits, setting us free.
Jesus comes walking over the sea,
calming our spirits, setting us free.

Looking around us, there is debris
scattered through marshes, buildings and trees,
still we are hopeful, we are at rest,
trusting our Savior, happy and blessed.

Trust is our calling; faith is our goal
This is our witness: He’s in control.
We’ll cling to Jesus, Savior and Friend,
and on his mercy, we will depend.
